Alexandra Manzano is the editorial director for content strategy where she leads the newsroom’s digital strategy and evolution. She manages the Strategy and Innovation, Audience and Metrics teams which oversee Politico’s platforms: the homepage, newsletters, the app/mobile, subscriber platforms, story forms and social and off-platform spaces. The team is focused on experimentation in journalism that informs newsroom approach, news products and technology.

She previously worked at the Los Angeles Times, as the Director of Audience Engagement where she helped form strategy around breaking news, enterprise reporting, video, metrics and off-platform storytelling. She was part of the team that won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for its coverage of the San Bernardino terrorist attack. Before Los Angeles, Manzano introduced social media to The Oregonian newsroom and worked to incorporate digital storytelling strategies into traditional workflows. She has a journalism degree from Pepperdine University and is a proud alumna of the ONA Women’s Leadership Accelerator.
