Women Rule: The Exchange Women and the Economy: Closing the Big Gaps

When she became one of President Biden’s top economic advisers, Cecilia Rouse vowed to rebuild the economy in a way that ensures all Americans reap the benefits. And although the U.S. economy has generated a record number of jobs, wage gains for low-income workers and GDP growth during Biden's first year in office, surging inflation continues to undercut the pandemic economic recovery.

On Monday, Feb. 28 at 12 pm ET, Morning Money author Kate Davidson will lead a 1:1 in-person Women Rule conversation with Rouse to discuss Biden's economic agenda, the administration's plans to tackle economic losses suffered by women in the pandemic, and what it will take to elevate more women to leadership ranks in the U.S. economy.

Two years after a pandemic-driven "she-cession" affected women around the world, Women Rule: the Exchange is focused on how to build an economy that bolsters women as it takes advantage of their enormous and untapped potential as consumers, producers and leaders.

Right now, there are several large and interconnected gaps keeping women from being equal partners in the economy: The leadership gap, the skills gap and the wage gap. Our Women Rule: The Exchange members will discuss how businesses and governments can best close these gaps during our Member Exchange at 12:20pm, knowing that doing so is the key to supercharging economic growth.
