If these walls could talk

President Bush addressed the weekly Senate Republican policy luncheon today, urging senators to break the stalemate over a comprehensive immigration bill, reports the Politico's Daniel Reilly.

“Now is the time to get it done,” he said addressing reporters after the meeting. “The status quo is unacceptable.”

Bush, however, did acknowledge the tensions within his own caucus.

“Some members believe we need to move a comprehensive immigration bill, some don’t. I understand that, it’s a highly emotional issue,” he said.

Bush said he discussed a wide variety of issues at the meeting, including the upcoming Energy Bill, the appropriations process and the possibility of independence for Kosovo.
