The Fifty: America's Mayors

Cities are at the frontline of significant challenges facing the country, including the ongoing COVID-19 response, pandemic economic recovery, rising income inequality, the racial justice movement and a spike in violent crime. This means mayors are expected to do much more to meet this moment and are often empowered to take bold action.


On February 24 , The Fifty: America’s Mayors convened mayors to discuss their policy agendas, including the enforcement of COVID measures such as vaccine and mask mandates. We also discussed how mayors are dealing with the fallout of the pandemic on their local economies and workforce, affordable housing and homelessness, and criminal justice reforms.
